Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ALL LIFT Scholarship?
This is yearly scholarship program for ALL SIG members, and potentially any JALT member, to cover expenses for select courses related to upskilling in matters of accessibility.
Why should EFL teachers avail of the scholarship?
Language teachers in Japan are expected to support learners with diverse needs in their respective classes. Some educators experiment with approaches with the intention of creating a more accessible and inclusive classroom. Unfortunately, without the necessary training and support, a trial-and-error approach can often be ineffective and inefficient. These situations necessitate some form of professional development or upskilling programs. With training on accessibility and inclusion, educators feel more empowered to meet the needs of their students.
What courses are available in this program?
Recipients can choose from one of the following courses available:
Disability Inclusion in Education: Building Systems of Support [offered by the University of Cape Town]
Universal Design for Learning Mindset: Credential 1 [offered by CAST]
